Hopae is thrilled to announce that we are now officially OpenID Connect (OIDC) certified. This milestone validates our commitment to aligning with the highest global standards in digital identity. This certification strengthens our credibility as the trusted infrastructure layer for secure and interoperable digital identity.
By achieving OIDC certification, Hopae joins a global network of trusted providers, demonstrating both technical excellence and readiness for future European and international frameworks.
What is OpenID Connect
OIDC is a widely adopted authentication standard built on top of OAuth 2.0. It allows users to securely prove who they are across applications and services.
In simple terms:
OIDC ensures trust between systems. Just as green and red traffic lights, OIDC ensures everyone across the world follows the same signals, so systems can trust each other and move safely without collisions.
It is the backbone of global interoperability. OIDC is used by banks, governments, and major online services worldwide to enable secure login and identity sharing.
What does OIDC certification mean for Hopae
Global standards compliance
Hopae successfully passed the official OpenID Provider conformance tests: Basic, Implicit, Hybrid, Form-Post, and Config OP. This confirms that our platform fully complies with the OpenID Connect 1.0 standard.
For our partners and clients, this means:
Guaranteed compatibility with existing OIDC libraries and systems.
Faster, easier integrations with less custom code.
Confidence that Hopae operates under a trusted, internationally recognized framework.

Strengthens our role of intermediary
Hopae Connect enables trusted interactions between national and private eIDs/wallets, and relying parties.
OIDC certification verifies its technical interoperability and alignment with international standards, strengthening Hopae Connect’s position as a neutral, global, and trusted intermediary and preparing it for frameworks like the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet and the Architecture and Reference Framework (ARF).
