Hopae Joins the FIDO Alliance

We're proud to announce that Hopae is now a member of the FIDO Alliance, the global industry association behind passkeys and the world's leading force for open, interoperable authentication standards.

Why the FIDO Alliance
Over the past decade, the FIDO Alliance has united more than 300 of the world's leading technology companies, financial institutions, and government organizations — including Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Mastercard, and Visa — around a shared mission: replacing passwords with something simpler and more secure.
The result speaks for itself. Passkeys are now used across billions of accounts, interoperable across devices and platforms, and adopted by every major ecosystem. FIDO proved that global interoperability in digital identity is not just possible — it's achievable when the industry builds together.
Identity is entering a new era
But identity is shifting. New initiatives — the EU Digital Identity Wallet, mobile driver's licenses, decentralized identity, and emerging ISO standards — are fundamentally changing how we interact online, including how we pay. Governments around the world are leading the way, from the EUDI Wallet rollout across all 27 EU member states to national schemes like Aadhaar, Singpass, and UAE PASS.
Verifiable credentials are the new frontier. The FIDO Alliance's Digital Credentials Working Group is applying the proven passkey playbook — wallet certification, specification development, and usability guidance — to make digital credentials as pervasive, trusted, and user-friendly as passkeys are today.
And a second frontier is already emerging: agentic AI. As AI agents begin making payments and handling tasks on behalf of humans, a critical question arises — how do we authenticate these agents and trace their actions back to a verified human? The FIDO Alliance's new Agentic Authentication and Payments working groups are tackling exactly this.
Why Hopae is joining
