Guest registration that arrives right first time
How hotels and rentals can collect accurate guest identity data for SES.Hospedajes, Alloggiati Web and similar systems, first time.

In Spain, every hotel, hostel and holiday rental must send guest identity details to the authorities through SES.Hospedajes. In Italy, hosts report guests through Alloggiati Web. Other European countries have their own versions. The rules differ, but the job is the same: collect accurate identity data for every guest, and submit it on time.
Most of that data is still collected the hard way. A guest types details into an online check-in form, or photographs their ID for someone (or some OCR software) to read. Typos, glare, unreadable characters and wrong fields all end up in a register that is meant to be accurate. Someone then has to fix them, guest by guest.
Read the data from the source
A government eID or wallet already holds the fields a guest register needs: name, date of birth, nationality and document details. When a guest shares that credential at online check-in, the data arrives signed by the issuing government. There’s nothing to read, nothing to retype and nothing to correct. Only the fields the register needs are requested, which keeps data collection to the minimum.
For guests without a supported eID, the current document flow stays in place. One check-in, two paths.
What Trip.com shows about the mechanics
Trip.com uses Hopae to map verified wallet credentials into its flight booking form. The mechanism is the same one guest registration needs: request a credential, verify it against the issuer and place each field where it belongs. Trip.com didn’t rebuild its booking flow to do it. Wallet identity sits beside the existing form as an option travellers choose.
For check-in and guest-verification platforms, that matters. You can add eID as a step inside the check-in flow your hosts already use, rather than asking them to change anything. Read the case study.
The operations are the hard part
Connecting to one national eID is a project. Connecting to the schemes your guests actually carry, then keeping them all running, is a permanent job: scheme registrations, API changes, certificate renewals, outages and maintenance windows. This is where most identity projects stall.
Hopae runs that layer. One integration gives you normalised data across every scheme. Most eIDs go live within days, we handle outages, API changes and scheduled maintenance, and backup providers are built in where available. Your team integrates once and gets register-ready data out.
For platforms: a feature your hosts will pay for
If you provide check-in, guest verification or property management software, verified registration is something you can offer as a premium step. Hosts in Spain and Italy get fewer corrections and less admin. Guests get a faster check-in. You integrate once and switch it on across your properties.
Digital passports and guest registration
Guest registers ask for passport or ID card details because those are the documents travellers carry. That is changing. ICAO’s Digital Travel Credential puts the passport’s chip data on the traveller’s phone, and the EU’s planned Digital Travel application, expected by 2030, will let travellers create these credentials from a passport or ID card and keep them in the EU Digital Identity Wallet.
For registration, the document number, nationality and expiry a police register needs will increasingly arrive as a signed digital credential, in formats set by ICAO Doc 9303 and the ISO mobile document standards (ISO/IEC 18013-5 and ISO/IEC TS 23220-4, the Photo ID). A check-in flow built to accept wallet credentials today can take these as they appear, without a new project for each country or format. The formats change; your check-in flow doesn’t.
Where to start
Pull a month of guest registrations and count how many needed manual correction or were rejected.
Break your guests down by nationality to see which eIDs would cover them.
Add eID as an option in one market’s check-in flow and compare correction rates.
Talk to Hopae about adding verified guest registration to your check-in flow.
